Rosemary Clooney (May 23, 1928 – June 29, 2002) was an American singer
and actress. She came to prominence in the early 1950s with the novelty hit
"Come On-A My House". "Mambo Italiano" was
written by the songwriter Bob Merrill and first performed by Rosemary Clooney
in 1954. The song was banned by New
York's WABC radio because of its suggestive lyrics. The radio station didn't
understand them and thought they might be suggestive.
